2010 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX (Singapore)

Well... well... another F.Alonso-Ferrari win!

That's 2 in a row and FA is really closing up on MW. It's going to be an interesting end to the championship at least for the Driver's championship. Apparently LH is giving up on the driver's championship so, it's possible that it would only be a 2 horse race between FA & MW.

As for the constructor's, it's really for RBR to lose it although the gap to McLaren is not that significant, but still quite a gap to Ferrari. Nevertheless, with 3 or 4 races to go, anything can happen.

It's 3 or 4 races as the latest news seems to indicate that the Koreans are having trouble getting the track ready in time. 1 race less can certainly change a lot of things.

Anyway, as for our little league, we have a new leader, courtesy of Lewis Hamilton! This gap from 1st to 6th is now 100 pts! C&AL's total points are a bit worrying! ;-)

Here it is..

FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO SANTANDER D'ITALIA 2010 (Monza)

So.... with everything to play for, Ferrari finally delivered when it matters most. Given that it's been since Brazil 2008 when Ferrari had pole (I know... amazing isn't it?), it was crucial to grab as many points as possible. As we all know, F.Alonso didn't exactly have a good start, which is not surprising since this is not the first time this year. Even more surprising is that F.A has always been a good starter during his time in Renault, but somehow, perhaps Ferrari's starting/traction is simply crap.

Nevertheless, J.Button got the better of FA at the start but as we also know now, it was the pitstops that made the difference. Apart from that, there's of course good ol 'I can't wait to get in front' Lewis H, which got him to the gravel trap instead. By then, he had barely even completed half the track! The other interesting event was S.Vettel literally used just 1 set of tires till the end of the race & only made his mandatory pit stop at the very last lap! Which kinda of proves that the tires can actually last that long especially when Monza is considered to the be fastest track in the whole F1 calendar.

It should be noted that both the current championship front runners did not score well today which also means that the competition is still far from over. This is especially true since the points scored for 1st-3rd is a lot different than before. The next few races will be very interesting indeed....

As for our little league... again, not much have changed other than the points difference between 1st & last is getting bigger & bigger!

2010 FORMULA 1 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX (Spa-Francorchamps)

Firstly, thanks to God, my father-in-law is now recovering very well after a very successful minor operation. It is even more significant that despite not knowing initially what the problem was, everything was taken care of within a day, which in my view was a miracle in itself.

So, back to the business at hand..... Spa! Always known as the racer's track, this race was quite fun to watch. Rain was always going to be a factor in Spa & this race was no less different. Despite early positive showings of Ferrari's pace, it didn't work out during qualifying, once again exposing the weaknesses of my favourite team (bummer!). And once again, Red Bull is right in front but that came to nought as Mr.Webber appears to be having a quick nap in the cool rainy weather of Spa.

For that mistake, Mr.Hamilton duly took advantage of it & basically, that was it. Overall it was a bit of a topsy-turvy race with the most interesting surprise of Kubica being at the front. Had he not been too eager & missed the pitstop, he might have maintained his 2nd place, which was conveniently taken over by waking Mr.Webber. Ferrari continues to disappoint, particularly Alonso who would have at least gotten some points but blew it all by deciding to redecorate the tyre wall with Ferrari red. Vettel, in his eager & typically German over enthusiasm  caused Button to retire & earn an drive-through penalty.

So, Hamilton wins again & with that, regain Championship leadership, & Webber regain some face with a 2nd position with Kubica achieving a fantastic 3rd place. The big question now is will Team Orders be the order of the day? McLaren says, they will not favour Hamilton & so did Red Bull......... yea rite.

I'm sorry, with Hamilton now clearly in the lead with at least 30 points ahead of Button & similarly for Webber and Vettel, it would be quite silly of the team to not favour these drivers with just 6 races to go. Unless both drivers retire for the next 2-3 races, it would only be the loss to the team & no one else.

So, does anybody want to debate on the practicality of Team Orders now? ;-)

Anyway, we'll find out soon enough. In the meantime, nothing much have changed in our little league. A lot of us actually ended with similar points & hence it was almost status quo. However, similar to the actual championship, the gap among us is getting wider. So, here are the results :
