2012 FORMULA 1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX (Suzuka) - The Tabemono

One of our all time favorites....Japanese food!

We also had Sandro & family joining us today. He brought some Italian appetizers and wine... can't go wrong with that!! Unfortunately, for some reason, I didn't have any pictures of these so we'll just have to imagine them. They were bread sticks with various dips... and wine directly from Tuscany!

As for our little Japanese cuisine... I think we can put some Japanese to shame!

Here's what we had.

First of... Tempura vegetables.....

Rice balls..

The very delicious grilled saba

Vegetable wraps... in seaweed no less

The fragrant garlic fried rice

A simple udon in miso soup

And there you have it... quite an authentic Japanese feast if I may say so!

For dessert... we moved away from japanese and to Indonesian! The every popular pisang goreng all the way from Jakarta!

And lastly to top it off... cake to celebrate my darling's birthday!

Arigato!!

It was certainly a good day for the Japanese as KK delivered the results for being on the podium for the first time, on home ground no less!! It was actually quite hilarious as they started the interview, he spoke in English but when he switched to Japanese.... he & the crowd went wild!

Also, for the first time in this season, we have a back-in-back winner in SV although this not good at all for FA as he retired within the first turn. However, this does bring the whole championship back into play and quite possibly could go down to the last race as a decider.

The quote of the day has to go to MW for calling RG "first-lap nutcase'! Having seen the replay... I couldn't agree more notwithstanding his fairly consistent record for such altercations. As for the FA / KR incident, it's probably a 50/50 thing although I suspect KR should have given way as he was way behind but tried to squeeze through resulting in his wing puncturing FA's tyre. If anything, Renault for a 100% record for causing 'incidents' in this race!

As for our little league... nothing much really changed since most of us choose almost similar drivers. Anyway... results as follows :

But whether it's Malaysian or Singaporean... the main dish is Chilli Crabs!!! Something we've been waiting for!!

2012 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX (Singapore)

Singapore GP.... the Asian Monaco GP!

In other words... it's a pretty boring race although it did have some dramas.

The big one of course was pole-sitter LH having a DNF due to mechanical failure. There was definitely a lot of 'barrier kissing'.... and of course there was MS going straight into the back of JEV.

In the end, 2nd position qualifies, SV won the race with JB in 2nd and Alonso managing to salvage a podium.
