2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

As it was expected.... the start of this season is going to be an interesting one. In fact, a lot more interesting than anticipated. With the new regulations and engines (a purring one at that!), even the rookies now have a chance to mess up the order. Based on earlier testings, it was not surprise that Red Bull are struggling and despite D Ricciardo's podium which has since been disqualified, they do appear to be on the back foot. Seb V DNQ was quite uncharacteristic of the Red Bull of years past.

Mercedes seems like the engine to look out for, given both the Mercedes and Sauber's team performance. Had the Kamui did not kamikaze Massa (which by the way, Kamui has been exonerated as it was determined that it was indeed a mechanical failure), Sauber would have had both cars easily in the top 10.

Ferrari has once again proved to be a disappointment especially with the IceMan slipping and sliding all over the place.

Nonetheless, this is an interesting start to the season and certainly many interesting races to look forward to.
